SEBA BOOK CLUB

“The Wise is the one who has the heart informed about those things that we otherwise do not know…”

Theophile Obenga

SEBA is the Ancient Egyptian (Kemetic) word meaning to teach, to instruct, to learn. It is the root word of the Greek word sophia (wisdom). When the Greek phileo (love) is united with sophia, the word philosophy is formed. As seba passed into the Greek language the letter b changed to ph.

The ETA “SEBA” Book Club meets once a month at 1:00 PM from September to June. Meetings are hosted by book club members at their homes where light refreshments are served. Over the past twenty years, we have read over one hundred different books detailing the history and culture of African people on the continent and in the African Diaspora.
